Authors of the Teacher's Guide:

Kehau Glassco graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 1994, and then attended UH Manoa where she earned a Bachelors degree in Hawaiian Studies and a certificate in Hawaiian Language in 1998, and then a Masters of Education in Teaching in 2000.  She began her teaching career at Castle and currently teaches Modern Hawaiian History and Participation in Democracy at Kailua.  She was born and raised in Ahuimanu but now lives in ‘Aiea with her husband Jerry and two keiki, Ka’io and Haweo.

Vanessa Souki earned a Bachelors degree in Hawaiian Studies in 2002, and then a Masters of Education in Teaching in 2005, both at UH Manoa.  She began her teaching career at Kailua, but currently teaches at her high school alma mater, Kalaheo.  She teaches Modern Hawaiian History and Participation in Democracy, both regular ed and honors.  Vanessa, the eldest of seven siblings, grew up in Salt Lake and Kailua, but now lives in town with her husband Jason.
